According to the well-known leakster, kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi), the scores for the RTX 4080 and 4070 were both from the benchmark program’s Time Spy Extreme test. Specifically, the cards were put through their paces in the graphics portion of the test, of which they both scored high. Kopite says that the RTX 4080’s performance in Time Spy Extreme’s graphics segment was more than 15000 points, while the RTX 4070 was seemingly hovering within the 10000 points zone on average. For another matter, Kopite’s tweet mentions no additional details about the RTX 4090, although they had previously said that the top-tier GPU had been shown to run around 66% faster than the current second-most powerful GPU in NVIDIA’s Ampere lineup, the RTX 3090.
— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) July 29, 2022 Now, if these scores were to be taken seriously, it would be safe to assume that the RTX 4070’s performance would practically be on par with the RTX 3090, as well as AMD’s own Radeon RX 6900XT in the same test. As for the RTX 4080, its alleged speed and performance would mean that the card will be twice as fast as the current RTX 3080, when its becomes available and out of the box. As for when the RTX 4080 and 4070 will be out, recent rumours have the new launch windows pegged down to October this year, with these two and the RTX 4090 supposed being announced all at the same time. However, those same rumours also suggest that the latter GPU will be the first to make its grand debut, while the previously mentioned two GPUs will make their way into the market at a later date. At this stage, many of us would simply be happy to just see NVIDIA officially announcing its new GPUs and having a steady supply of the new GPUs when they finally hit the shelves. (Source: Videocardz)
