AMD first launched its Polaris GPU architecture back in 2016. Officially know as Polaris 10, the GPU architecture was built upon a 14nm die lithography, and was the backbone of the company’s Radeon RX 400 series. A year later, AMD refreshed the GPU architecture as Polaris 20, which then powered the Radeon RX 500 series. Additionally, Polaris 30 will reportedly be made using AMD’s Zen+ 12nm Leading-performance (LP) die lithography. Given AMD’s naming convention, it’s possible that graphics cards under the new refresh will continue the trend and be known as the Radeon RX 600 series. More to the point, the rumours also suggest that its first card, the Radeon RX 670, will be launching sometime this month. Followed by the launch of the Radeon RX 680 later in November. There still not a lot of details regarding the card’s official specifications, and AMD has yet to release and official statement to address the rumour.
