The 2970WX is currently AMD’s second most powerful CPU, after the 2990WX. It has a base clockspeed of 3GHz and a boost clockspeed of 4.2GHz. The CPU also has an L3 Cache of 64MB. More importantly, the CPU requires TDP of 250W in order to run efficiently. Moving on, the 2920X is essentially a refresh of the company’s first generation Threadripper 1920X, but with slightly higher base and boost clockspeed. Specifically, the CPU has a base clockspeed of 3.0GHz and a boost clockspeed of 4.3GHz. The L3 Cache is half the size of the 2970WX at 32MB, but it does have a lower TDP of 180W. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2 2970WX and 2920X are currently retailing at RM5499 and RM2749 respectively, and can be purchased at authorised AMD resellers.
