This new tidbit comes from Twitter user @dylandkt, who also claims that the new MacBook Air models will also be painted with the bright colours that the new iMacs sport. As an aside, the M1X is also mentioned, being instead reserved for Macbook Pros.

— Dylan (@dylandkt) July 5, 2021 The latter part of these claims does line up with previous reports of the M1X chip, even if just barely. That being said, there’s nothing so far that can corroborate the part that says the Apple M2 chip will be making an appearance. What we previously heard about the chip was way off the mark, after all. But this does reinforce the suggestion that there will indeed be two chips coming after the M1, which are the M1X and the M2. As always, leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt. But for what it’s worth, MacRumors points out that @dylandkt has a reliable track record so far. They predicted the launch of the iPad Pro with M1 chips back in November 2020. Ditto the new iMacs with M1 chips as well. (Source: @dylandkt / Twitter via MacRumors)
