According to a report by DigiTimes, the 6.1-inch version is just one of four new models that Apple is planning on launching this year, hopefully within its usual September and October timeframe. Other sizes include a 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch model, and another 6.1-inch iPhone 12, albeit with hardware that will reportedly be closer to entry-level. DigiTimes also says that regardless of size, all four iPhones will be fitted with OLED displays, the majority of which will be provided by Samsung. Unfortunately, there’s still not a lot of information beyond size and display type. Given Apple’s tradition, it’s possible that the future iPhones will feature a new chipset, a slight uplift in its design, and the possibility of a new camera system, among other things.

Like all rumours, it’s best to take this bit of new with a large grain of salt, especially with the potential launch period; as it stands, COVID-19 has all but forced several major events to either be rescheduled, cancelled outright, or shifted online. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if Apple decides to pull off the latter. (Source: DigiTimes via MacRumors, Tom’s Guide)
