Stating the obvious, the new Duo 16 is equipped with the new AMD Ryzen 6000 series and more specifically, the Ryzen 9 6900HX, an upgrade from the previous Ryzen 9 5980HX. For that matter, this is also the only laptop in the Zephyrus lineup to actually be fitted with a CPU more powerful and greater than a Ryzen 7 6800HS, and rightfully so.
Also, as it is a high-end, premium gaming laptop, the CPU on the Duo 16 2022 is also coated with Thermal Grizzly’s Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal compound, ensuring better thermal efficiency, in addition to the laptop’s AAS Plus 2.0 cooling solution. Moving on, another new and improved feature that has been installed into the Duo 16 is the new 16-inch main display panel, with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The new display is available in two resolution options: the first is a QHD+ (2560 x 1600) panel, with a refresh rate of 165Hz, while the second, specced-out option, offers a panel capable of switching between 4K+ at 120Hz and Full HD+ at 240Hz. Regardless of resolution, both display panels are Nebula Mini LED displays, supporting up to 512 dimming zones, capable of reaching a peak brightness of 1100 nits. In addition, all Duo 16 models are fitted with the secondary ScreenPad Plus touch panel that has a default resolution of 4K.
Moving on, other hardware specifications include an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti or RTX 3080 Ti, up to 4TB of NVMe Gen4 storage, and up to 32GB DDR5-4800MHz of dual-channel memory. Before you ask: yes, the keyboard and trackpad placement on the Duo 16 still remains the same, as does the number of I/O ports. Price-wise, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 2022 starts from RM15999 for the SKU with the RTX 3070 Ti, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and the QHD+ 165Hz display panel. For those gunning for the premium model that comes with an RTX 3080 Ti, the Dual Spec 16-inch panel, 64GB DDR5-4800MHz, and 4TB of NVMe Gen4 storage, that model will set you back RM22999.
