The rumour comes by way of YouTube Insider TheLongSensation (@LongSensationYT). According to them, the new Black Ops title will either continue the numerical naming convention with Call of Duty: Black Ops 5, or be rebooted. With its title simply being Call of Duty: Black Ops. https://twitter.com/LongSensationYT/status/1159077570912096261 Further information from them says that the new Black Ops game will still take place within the Cold War era. But where the original Black Ops title had most of its focus during the Vietnam War era, the reboot will apparently have parts of the game taking place during the Korean War as well. As with the previous Call of Duty: Black Ops titles, video game studio and developer Treyarch will be spearheading the development of Black Ops 2020, although it is rumoured that the game was supposed to be developed by Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. And that Treyarch was asked to step in and take over the development of the title. LongSensation also goes on to describe in his tweet that the upcoming title will be “even more gritty and gruesome than Modern Warfare”. As it stands, we don’t really know much about the story for the upcoming Modern Warfare reboot, but to be fair, the franchise has managed to pull some unexpected surprises. Case in point, the infamous “No Russian” mission that takes place in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. (Source: Polygon)
