Marhulets shared that the DLCs are currently in the early concept stages. When released, they will serve to add new levels to Darq. This is to address a common criticism of the game, that it’s a little too short. In a response to a question on Twitter, Marhulets indicated that the free DLC will make its way to GOG as well.
— Unfold Games (@UnfoldGames) August 24, 2019 The solo indie dev was approached by Epic Games representatives shortly after announcing Darq’s upcoming launch in Steam. He turned down the exclusivity deal, and Epic Games refused to pick the game up unless he did. The entire situation turned out unexpectedly well for the developer, which led to this free DLC announcement. While there are no official figures indicating the success of Darq, Unfold Games being able to promise free DLC may be a positive sign. Marhulets previously said that he will “probably” make less money by not taking Epic Games’ exclusivity deal. But what he’s not making in money, he appears to be making up for it with community goodwill. (Source: Unfold Games / Twitter [1], [2] via PC Gamer)
