Essentially, Unfold Games is telling Epic Games the same thing Epic Games told Valve when it launched the EGS. Back in April, Epic Games challenged Valve to have Steam match the 88/12 revenue split of the EGS. Epic Games claimed that should Valve take on the challenge, it will stop sweeping up games as timed exclusives.

— Unfold Games (@UnfoldGames) August 26, 2019 The mostly one-man development team handled by Wlad Marhulets first turned down Epic Games Store exclusivity late last month. He has received so much support as a result that he announced free DLCs for the game by the end of the year. It remains to be seen if Tim Sweeney will respond to this. Considering Epic Games’ previous claim that it can’t take Darq without it being exclusive, things will likely remain unchanged. That said, this will likely mean more positive light being shone on Darq. (Source: Unfold Games / Twitter via Reddit)
