Dinga Bakaba, the game director of Deathloop, shared the interaction between the game and the DualSense controller on a PlayStation Blog post. He describes using the controller to make each gun in the game feel as differently from one another. He also describes having the game block the triggers when your weapons jam in-game. This gives the player physical feedback on what’s going on. It’s an amazing way to make use of adaptive triggers, a feature that sounds so innocuous. Having them get artificially jammed to reflect a jammed gun sounds a lot more impressive, and perhaps more fairly describes what the DualSense can do. At least when compared to just having variable tension to reflect in-game events. Of course, there’s every chance that it sounds a lot better than it actually is. We’ll have to wait until the PlayStation 5 is actually available before we find out for sure if the DualSense is all devs make it out to be. (Source: PlayStation)
