Among new Asian countries that will be joining the Disney+ market list very soon is Singapore. In general, it will become the second country in Southeast Asia to receive the streaming service after Indonesia.
All these and more coming to the little red dot on 23 February. #DisneyPlusSG pic.twitter.com/xLG5A6k29B — Disney+ Singapore (@DisneyPlusSG) December 11, 2020 Over there, the monthly subscription has been set at SGD 11.98 (~RM 37) per month and users can also opt for the annual fee of SGD 119.98 (~RM 365). Aside from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic contents, Disney+ service in Singapore will also feature contents from the company’s newly announced entertainment content brand, Star. Aside from Singapore, Disney+ is also coming to South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong sometime in 2021. Unfortunately, there is no update regarding Disney+ availability for Malaysia at the moment, even though Disney is already pulling out its three children channels from Astro at the end of this year and was also looking to hire new employees to handle some of Disney+ operations in Kuala Lumpur.
For now, the only thing that Disney+ has for Malaysia is this registration of interest page. Let’s hope that the gate will be opened for Malaysians sooner rather than later.
