During the call, an investor asked Disney CEO Bob Iger what the House of Mouse have planned for the video game market. As a response, Iger said “we haven’t been particularly good at the self-publishing side, but we’ve been great at the licensing side.”

He continued, “we’ve had good relationships with some of those we’re licensing to, notably EA and the relationship on the Star Wars properties, and we’re probably going to stay on that side of the business.” It looks like Disney doesn’t share the opinions of Rogue One scriptwriter Gary Whitta after all. At the same time, Iger seems to be either unaware of or indifferent towards the way EA handled Star Wars Battlefront 2. Perhaps that’s the attitude the company has maintained since ending the Disney Infinity series. All in all, don’t expect the House of Mouse to take away Star Wars from EA anytime soon.
