To ensure that every one of its customers gets a fair chance at purchasing one of its custom-cooled GeForce RTX 3090 or RTX 3080 card through its online store, the brand is implementing a queue-based notification system. It’s all a relatively straightforward process: customers who place an order for either card will be notified once the stock arrives at the brand’s warehouse. The genius part about this system is the implementation of a timer on limited stock; if the stock of a specific card you ordered is in and the user is notified, that same user will have five hours to place their order for the card. Failing which, the product that was on hold for the user will then be released back into EVGA’s queue system.
To ensure further conformity to the rules, EVGA says that users’ email addresses must match the emails that have a registered EVGA account. If the email itself doesn’t exist within EVGA’s database, then users must create an account before a purchase can be made. Implementing a time-based notification and purchase period does bear some merit in deterring bots and money-driven resellers. Unfortunately, EVGA’s online store does not ship directly to Malaysia but nevertheless, we do hope that local retailers would consider implementing this method themselves.
