GoCar has also implemented a new rate for those who want to utilize the GoEV for a month or more. Prior to this, it costs RM6,960 per month which is equivalent to RM232 per day but the monthly rate has since been significantly reduced to RM3,600 or RM120 per day. In terms of availability, the GoEV service is still limited to Klang Valley. The current list of locations includes Nissan/Renault ETCM Glenmarie, 163 Retail Park Mont Kiara, Mid Valley Megamall KL, ERL Station KL Sentral, GoCar Cuba-Beli Chow Kit, Avenue K KLCC, LINC KL Jalan Tun Razak, MyTown Cheras, and GoCar PJ HQ while IOI City Mall Putrajaya has recently been added into the list as well. GoCar is currently still using the second-generation Nissan Leaf for its GoEV fleet. Launched in Malaysia back in 2019, the EV is equipped with a 110kW 320Nm motor that allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 155 km/h, This particular model comes with a 40kWh lithium-ion battery to help it reach a maximum travel distance of 311km. Through the Leaf’s onboard 6.6kW AC charger, it takes around seven hours to fully charge the car but the charging time can be significantly reduced to one hour by using a CHAdeMO-based 50kW DC fast charger. Each GoEV vehicle comes with a chargEV card that allows customers to charge the vehicle at any chargEV AC charger during their time with the Leaf. Since the Leaf was equipped with a Type 1 connector while the majority of AC chargers in Malaysia have a Type 2 connector, GoCar has also provided a Type 2 to Type 1 charging cable with each car in order to overcome computability issues. GoCar recently revealed that it is planning to grow the GoEV service by increasing its Nissan Leaf fleet to more than 50 units. At the same time, the car-sharing company also want to increase the amount of GoEV zones in Klang Valley to 20 within the next few months although it did not provide any exact timeline for the expansion plan.
