Even though the company has already released the HONOR 20 Lite in Malaysia – an interesting device in its own rights, there is still more to come. Below is a run down of  what we know so far in regards to the HONOR 20 series, based on information from the rumour mill as well as some official information that HONOR has released so far.

Launch Event

As mentioned earlier, the new HONOR 20 series will be launched later this month. It is scheduled to take place in London on the 21st of May 2019. The exact launch date was revealed as a teaser puzzle in the initial announcement, via HONOR’s social media channels. Members of the public were left with an equation to solve in order to reveal the actual launch date. However, the equation might have been a clue in itself, since it consisted of only one number: 4. At that time, we suspected that it might be a reference to four rear cameras…which brings us to the next point.

Quad Rear Camera

Aside from the hint from the announcement of the launch event in London, HONOR has also released several teasers (such as the one shown below) that hinted at the existence of four cameras in at least one of HONOR 20 devices: Furthermore, the company recently launched the Capture Wonder mini-game on the global HONOR website. In the game, players have to utilize a camera which interestingly has four different characteristics including a 48MP sensor, telephoto lens, low-light camera, as well as a wide-angle camera.

Even though the camera system depicted in the HONOR Capture Wonder mini-game seems rather vague, it is not far off from what we’ve heard from chatters within the rumour mill. For example, both the HONOR 20 Pro and standard HONOR 20 model were said to carry a similar set of 48MP primary camera, 16MP super wide-angle camera, and 2MP macro camera on their back. As for the fourth camera, the Pro model will also feature a 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom capability while the non-Pro would come with a 2MP depth camera instead. Another rumour that we’ve heard regarding the HONOR 20 series camera system is that it could break into the top 3 positions within the DxOMark chart. While you do need to take all these rumours with a grain of salt, things are going to get interesting if they proved to be true when the HONOR 20 series receive its official launch later this month.

Specifications

Aside from the quad rear camera system, there are also chatters regarding other components within the HONOR 20 series devices. For starters, the HONOR 20 Pro is also rumoured to carry a 6.4-inch OLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner and 32MP punch-hole selfie camera. It will also apparently come with 4000mAh battery alongside up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

On another hand, the standard HONOR 20 model is said to come with a 6.26-inch display and up to 6GB RAM as well as 128GB internal storage. With a battery capacity of 3750mAh, the phone will also feature a 32MP selfie camera. In terms of processor, both of HONOR 20 series devices are said to be powered by Kirin 980 which pretty much positions them as flagship-level devices.

Moschino Collaboration

Just like the View 20, HONOR will again collaborate with Italian fashion house Moschino. At this moment, we have no knowledge of what exciting fashion statments this round of collaboration will bring to the HONOR 20 series.

However, the teaser provided by HONOR depicts a HONOR x Moschino pouch seems to hint that consumers might be able to see co-branded accessories. There were also some chatters within the rumour mill that there might be HONOR 20 Moschino edition as well. Want to know how accurate all the information above going to be? Well then, stay tuned for further confirmation during the HONOR 20 series launch event on 21 May.
