For what it’s worth, if you’re already very invested in the previous games of the series, you’ll be able to import your Hitman 2 progress from Steam to Hitman 3 on the EGS. If you still insist on getting the game on Steam, then you’ll have to wait until 2022. Like the PlayStation version, you’ll also be able to import locations from the previous two games to this one.

— HITMAN 3 (@Hitman) August 20, 2020 Naturally, this started a small fire on Twitter. Not exactly surprising, considering the way previous EGS exclusive deals were perceived. The devs at IO Interactive say that the deal allows the studio to self-publish its game, and make the game as well as it wanted. But its clearly not a reason that sat well with those who dislike the EGS launcher. At any rate, Hitman 3 is set to open for pre-orders later this month. No specific date was given for when that will be. But considering it’s not on Steam, the number of people pre-ordering it wouldn’t be as big as it could be. (Source: IO Interactive)
