Included in a tweet posted yesterday by HMD Global is a photo of a smartphone that is somewhat reminiscent of the Nokia X10 or X20 that were unveiled back in April. Rather than featuring a plastic or glass rear case, the device in question is shown sporting a rock-like rear case with the (obviously photoshopped) words, “With our newest Nokia phone you will never need a case again 27.07.21.” Yes, without any use of punctuations throughout the entire sentence – infuriating, I know. There’s a chance that the new Nokia phone is a rugged version of the aforementioned X-series, much like how Samsung Galaxy XCover handsets are the tougher variants of the Galaxy S series. Meanwhile, GSMArena believes that the device could be the rumoured Nokia XR20 that was spotted in Geekbench last month.

Therefore, it is also possible that the photo and phone might not represent the actual product. Maybe it’s the long awaited successor to the original durable and reliable Nokia phone, the 3310? Regardless, we’ll have to wait until late July to find out more regarding this new mysterious, rugged Nokia smartphone by HMD Global. Hopefully, it will look better than what was presented in the teaser. (Source: HMD Global [Twitter] via GSMArena)
