Following its recent launch in China, Huawei also released the specifications and unique features of their new tablet. The Huawei MatePad Pro sports a 10.8-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 2560×1600 QHD resolution, and features a punch-hole on its top right corner. Its display offers thin 4.9mm bezels with a screen to body ratio of 90%, the largest screen estate offered by a tablet by far. The tablet scales at 460 grams and measures 159 x 245 x 7.2mm. Under the hood, the MatePad is equipped the powerful Huawei Kirin 990 SoC, while supporting up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. Battery-wise, the tablet has a massive capacity of 7250mAh with the ability to support 40W super fast charging by cable, and 15W wireless charging. On top of that, it could also provide reverse wireless charging at 7.5W to other supported devices – a first for any tablet.
The MediaPad Pro also includes the M-Pencil, a stylus that could magnetically attach itself on the tablet, as well as wireless charge from it. According to Huawei, the stylus is able to work for 10 minutes after a 30-second charge. For the camera setup, the tablet’s rear camera features a 13MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, while its front punch-hole selfie camera is an 8MP sensor. Software-wise, the Huawei MatePad Pro comes with Android 10 with EMUI 10 out of the box, but lacks Google Mobile Service. It also features the Multi-Screen Collaboration mode which enables you to share a screen with other Huawei devices such as the Mate 30 smartphone and MateBook 13 laptop in real-time. Other than that, the new tablet also has a laptop mode which offers a more traditional PC-like interface and multi-window functionality.
The MatePad Pro is available in Wi-Fi only and LTE versions, and colour selections include White, Black, Green and Orange. Official sales in China is slated to begin on 12 December with the Wi-Fi version is offered at CNY3299 (~RM1960) for the 6GB + 128GB, and CNY3999 (~RM2375) for the 8GB + 256GB; while the LTE version is offered at CNY3799 (~RM2256) for the 6GB + 128GB, and CNY4499 (~RM2672)for the 8GB + 256GB.
