The options include Lite, Basic and Flex, which were previously available for domestic destinations and provided passengers with certain benefits. Lite passengers are allowed free cabin baggage of up to 7kg and a complimentary meal. However, they are not entitled to MAS Enrich Miles upgrades, free check-in baggage and seat selection.
The Basic fare also provides passengers with free cabin baggage of up to 7kg and a complimentary meal. Additionally, it also offers 20kg of free check-in baggage and 10% child discount. However, Basic fare passengers are excluded from benefits such as seat selection, refund requests, and travel flexibility. Lastly, Flex passengers are entitled to full-fledged economy-class benefits. These include 30kg of check-in baggage, Enrich Miles upgrades, travel time flexibility, refunds and re-booking of flights. Furthermore, a new Shuttle fare is also introduced on top of the Lite and Basic options for shorter non-domestic routes such as Kuala Lumpur-Singapore. According to MAS, Shuttle shares certain benefits as Flex but with a larger check-in baggage allowance of 35kg, as well as a priority check-in at dedicated counters. MAS adds that the new integration to the Economy-class will affect flights booked from 18 February onward. However, bookings made prior to that date remains unaffected.
