First and foremost, it is worth pointing out that this card is not to be confused with the highly anticipated GrabPay Card that launched in the Philippines earlier this year. Grab’s first party card is directly linked to the service’s application, which also handles user transactions. While it was previously reported that Grab Malaysia has shown interest in debuting the card locally, it is still not known if it is still proceeding with the idea. The newly introduced Maybank Grab Mastercard Platinum Card functions similarly to the Maybank Shopee Credit Card that debuted back in June. Like the latter, the card enables users to earn points on Grab’s loyalty program – along with added benefits such as earning 5x GrabRewards points for every RM1 transaction, RM50 worth of Grab Vouchers for a minimum spend of RM300 on Grab services, and much more. The company will also reward new card users with 1,000 GrabRewards points upon successful activation. (Source / Images: Maybank)
