In case you haven’t pieced it together, MekaRoyale Online is a battle royale game that adds mechs into the mix. It’s made by Malaysian developer studio Illogical Games, and beyond the novelty, their game also sounds pretty brutal.

Here’s what I mean – you can choose to play as a pilot, or with a mech called in at the start of each match. You face off against 11 other players, which may also have deployed unarmed or with their own mech. Mechs can be upgraded with more weapons and equipment before a battle, while pilots will have to procure weapons on-site. This includes an Exosuit, which will help even the odds a little against other players deployed in mechs.

But while mechs are generally the superior option, if you deploy using a mech and you lose the match, you lose the mech alongside its upgrades and everything else you may have procured throughout the match. This gives the game a roguelike twist, that makes you think twice about deploying with a mech in every match. To get mechs and their upgrades you’ll have to earn credits. This is generally done by winning matches but fortunately, there is still an alternative for those who are struggling with souped-up mechs in every match. That comes in the form of single-player missions. If you are curious enough to give the Malaysian-made game a try, MekaRoyale Online is now readily available for Android and iOS devices (Source: MekaRoyaleOnline via Aksiz.)
