Talking to CNET, Microsoft head Satya Nadella said “You can’t wake up one day and say ‘Let me build a game studio’.” Xbox lead Phil Spencer also chimed in, saying “Content is just the incredible ingredient to our platform that we continue to invest in. This doubles the size of our creative organisation”. With that, it’s little doubt that Microsoft will be making more acquisitions. On the flip side though, it remains to be seen if SEGA will be one of them. But it’s an idea that conspiracy theorists look to be feeding on. And in typical conspiracy theory fashion, the evidence is very contrived.
