A device needs to be certified with the Widevine DRM’s L1 certification and must pass Netflix’s own internal testing in order to support the streaming service’s high definition content. Of course, this is applicable to devices that are equipped with a HDR display. Other than the aforementioned smartphones, Samsung devices listed as HD compatible include the Galaxy A50s, A51, A71, Note 10 Lite, and Tab S5e. Additionally, HDR supported devices include the Galaxy Fold, S10 Lite, and Note 10 Plus. Aside from Samsung products, the list – particularly supporting HDR content – also includes other smartphones such as Xiaomi Mi 10 series and the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 Mk II. The overall listing includes supported chipsets as well, such as MediaTek MT6785, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, and Samsung Exynos 980.
