According to kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi), they claim to have received word from a source that says the RTX 3080 Ti could be shipping out with 12GB GDDR6X, instead of the original 20GB GDDR6X. Moreover, the source claims that NVIDIA plans on launching the card sometime in April this year, though it should be noted that no other sources have confirmed this alleged launch date.
— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) December 10, 2020 Additionally, kopite7kimi also alleges that the RTX 3080 Ti could come with 10240 CUDA cores, which translate to around 80 Stream multiprocessors. To put it in another way, that’s 12 more Stream multiprocessors than the RTX 3080 and just two units short of what the RTX 3090 has. Now, this is very obviously just a rumour at this stage, and we cannot stress enough that a liberal sprinkling of salt should be taken with this, for a number of reasons. Firstly, it clearly goes against earlier rumours and leaks, chief among which is the card’s supposed performance in a recent leak, although it should be noted that there is a possibility of the card’s GPU-Z information being doctored.
Second, there’s also the brief hiccup from ASUS, one of NVIDIA’s AiB partners, where the company “accidentally” listed an RTX 3080 Ti with 20GB of graphics memory on its support page. (Source: Videocardz)
