The issue was first made apparent by several users on the internet. One Reddit user shared a video of their Switch Lite exhibiting the disdainful problem, while another YouTube video shows the camera in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild spinning all by itself after a slight nudging. If the video of the drifting Joy-Cons is authentic, fixing the issue on the Switch Lite will undoubtedly be more challenging. With the original Switch, one solution to the problem was to simply swap out the Joy-Cons. In the case of the Switch Lite, fixing the drifting issue would require the whole console to be shipped to Nintendo for disassembly and repair. Some users suggested spraying contact cleaner into the base their Joy-Con’s analog stick to reduce the drifting problem. However, it is not recommended for the Switch Lite as the cleaning solution could leak into the console itself, causing more harm than good. And possibly voiding your warranty. Given that the Switch Lite is still fairly new, there isn’t much that Nintendo fans can actually do besides being a little more delicate with the Joy-Cons. Previously, Nintendo addressed the issue by offering a free replacement service for affected Joy-Cons. In any case, we’re still hoping that the brand will be able to resolve the drifting issue.
