In terms of performance, the OV64B can be compared to the ISOCELL Bright GW1 by Samsung, which is also a 64MP sensor. Both sensors use a Quad Bayer filter array to capture pixel-binned 16MP images in low-light conditions, or filtered 64MP images in well-lit environments. The only notable difference is that the ISOCELL is larger in physical size when compared to the OmniVision OV64B. For videos, the new sensor allows recordings for 8K/30p video, 4K/60p, or 4K/30 with electronic image stabilisation. Additionally, the OV64B is able to continuously capture 64MP photos at up to 15fps. OmniVision claims that these features would make the sensor ideal for the main, wide, ultra-wide or telephoto rear-facing cameras in upcoming devices.
