MySmartPrice reports that the name OnePlus Pad has appeared on the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The name is, admittedly, not the most creative or inspiring, but that’s beside the point. The listing also does not include any sort of spec sheet for the tablet. In fact, beyond the name, there’s really no other indication that the device would indeed be a tablet.
It’s certainly an interesting time to be making a tablet, to be sure. You’d think that the company would have at least made one in the seven years since the OnePlus One. Instead, it is only doing so now with the OnePlus Pad, soon after announcing its merger with sister company OPPO. The latter of which, incidentally, was also reported late last year to be working on its own tablet. At any rate, a trademark registration doesn’t necessarily mean that a product will come, at least not immediately. But MySmartPrice claims that one is sure to come in a few months’ time. If that is truly the case, then we’ll have to wait until then to see what this OnePlus Pad is all about. (Source: MySmartPrice)
