The new F17 smartphone duo features a lot of similarities in terms of design, so let’s start with that. Both devices are equipped with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 60Hz refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint scanner, a battery capacity of 4,000mAh with 30W VOOC 4.0 fast-charging support, USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom, the same rear quad-camera layout, and runs on Android 10 via ColorOS 7.2.

You could easily differentiate the standard and the Pro version by their displays; where the former features a waterdrop notch with a lone 16MP camera, while the latter comes with a pill-shaped cutout with a 16MP main and 2MP depth combo on the upper left corner. While the back of the phones offer a similar quad-camera layout, they differ in terms of the main camera. The vanilla model packs a 16MP primary, while the Pro variant sports a 48MP. The other three cameras on either device are the same, consisting of an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.

The internals of both devices also differ from one another, as mentioned earlier on. The standard OPPO F17 features a Snapdragon 662 SoC with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, while the Pro comes with a Helio P95, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. In addition, storage on the F17 duo is expandable via a single microSD card slot.

The OPPO F17 Pro is slated to be released in India on 7 September 2020, priced at INR23,000 (~RM1,298), and is available in three colours: Magic Blue, Matte Black, and Metallic. The release date, pricing, and colour options for the standard F17 model, on the other hand, will be confirmed by the company at a later date. No word on a global release of the new F17 series outside of India at this time. (Source: OPPO [India] via XDA)
