The report comes by way of GizChina, who says that OPPO not only intends to release a Wear OS-based OPPO Watch, but it also plans on getting out the wearable to the global masses by the end of this month. It’s not known why OPPO has decided to do this with its product, but there’s no denying that the move is a sound one, especially if it intends to become a viable player in the wearable market segment. That, and the fact that OPPO launched a Wear OS-powered Watch in Germany.
Besides the change of OS, the internal specs of the OPPO Watch remain largely unchanged. You still get the same Snapdragon Wear 2500 chipset, accompanied by an Apollo 3 co-processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a 300mAh battery that churns out approximately 14 days on a single charge. Connectivity is settled via Bluetooth 4.2. At the time of writing, OPPO has yet to announce local pricing or if Malaysia will be one of the recipients in the global availability of the OPPO Watch.
