Sources to VGC claim that Sony will launch the PS5 after Microsoft launches the Xbox Series X. They claim that the company has “booked significant marketing spend” for the week starting Friday, 13 November. This is in contrast to Microsoft that will be launching the Xbox Series X at the end of the first week of November. The company previously said that it planned to launch its next-gen console in November. But the leak of its controller revealed that this may be 6 November specifically.
Overall, the launch dates make sense. These dates are pretty close to the launch dates of the current generation of consoles. And despite being later than its Xbox counterpart, the PlayStation 5 will still be out in time for some of this year’s heavy hitters. Among them are Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Of course, it’s still entirely possible for Sony to decide in the last minute to change the date of the PS5 launch, if this 13 November date is accurate. But either way, that’s a date that you can probably mark on your calendar. (Source: VGC)
