You might think that the name is referring to sleeping Pokemon (looking at you, Snorlax!) but truth to be told, the upcoming app will feature a gameplay experience that involves tracking your sleeping habit. To be co-developed by Select Button which has previously worked on Pokemon Magikarp Jump app, the specific details regarding the gameplay was not revealed by The Pokemon Company though.
However, the company did reveal that it is working with Niantic on a device called Pokemon GO Plus + that can be used with the new game. Built with its own accelerometer, this particular device offers all of the features in the existing Pokemon GO Plus tracker together with sleep tracking feature. With the Pokemon GO Plus +, it allows gamers to maximise their Pokemon GO and Pokemon Sleep experience through just one single device. As exciting as all of these developments might sound like, we still have to wait for a little while to hear more details regarding them though as Pokemon Sleep is scheduled for release only in 2020.
