Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Greene says “I don’t really intend to make PUBG 2. I’ve done battle royale, it’s time to try something else.” As for what he’s working on now, he says he wants to “explore online experiences and how to connect people in ways that we haven’t really done before,” which probably suggests a cooperative Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) title of sorts.

To that end, Greene has moved to PUBG Corp’s Special Projects division, one that’s purely about cooking up ideas and experimenting. He also says that PUBG Corp’s CEO, Chang Hang Kim, isn’t putting pressure on him to come up with the next gaming trend. In fact, he’s given free rein to come up with something he is excited for himself. All that said, we won’t be seeing Greene’s new project anytime soon. He’s reportedly given no deadline to come up with his next big idea, stating “I’m very lucky to have this year, two years, three years to develop some ideas.” (Source: GamesIndustry.biz via TweakTown)
