As teased by the CEO of Nubia, Ni Fei few months ago, one of signature feature of Red Magic 5G is its 6.65-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with native 144Hz refresh rate. At the same time, the company also pointed out the display has touch sampling rate of 240Hz and in-display optical fingerprint scanner.
Other than that, the new Red Magic 5G also comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 alongside a rather elaborate thermal solution that apparently includes a very tiny aluminium fan as well as graphite thermal pad, thermal gel, copper foil, and liquid-cooling pipe. The phone can be obtained with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0-based internal storage. In terms of photography (yes, gaming phones still need camera), the Red Magic 5G features a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor on its main rear camera that is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro cameras. For selfies, the phone relies on an 8MP camera that is located just above its 144Hz display.
The Red Magic 5G also features a pair of dedicated shoulder keys with 300Hz touch sampling rate that should be useful to some gamers out there. A 4500mAh battery with support for 55W fast charger completes the phone general specifications. Pricewise, Red Magic 5G starts at CNY 3799 (~RM 2328) for the base 8GB/128GB model while the 12GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB variants are listed at CNY 4099 (~RM 2511) and CNY 4399 (~RM 2695) respectively. As for the top of the line model which features 16GB of RAM and 256GB storage, it goes for CNY 4999 (~RM 3062).
The 12GB/256GB and 16GB/256GB variants can be obtained in the form of Transparent Edition models too which are price at CNY 4599 (~RM 2817) and CNY 5199 (~RM 3185) respectively. The availability of Red Magic 5G in Malaysia is not yet known at the moment although Nubia is apparently planning to launch the phone outside of China this coming April. (Source: Nubia China.)
