Visually, the duo differs from one another in terms of design. Specifically, the standard Redmi Buds 4 features a stemless earbuds form which is accompanied by a tall charging case, whereas the Pro variant features an Airpods-like stemmed design and comes with a wide case. As for colour selection, the former is offered in either Light Blue or Gloss White, while the latter is available in either Midnight Black or Moon White. Specs-wise, the standard Redmi Buds 4 is equipped with 10 mm dynamic drivers, an ANC chip that’s capable of providing up to 35 dB hybrid noise cancellation, and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. Also onboard are dual microphones with AI-based noise reduction for hands-free calls, and an active transparency mode that amplifies external audio to provide users with environmental awareness.
Other than that, the earbuds offer a battery life of 6 hours on a single charge with ANC deactivated, and a total of 30 hours through the additional charges via its accompanying case. According to Xiaomi, a full charge for the accompanying case will only take less than two hours via USB-C. Next up, we have the Buds 4 Pro. Unlike its sibling, Redmi’s high-end TWS offering comes with Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified 10 mm + 6 mm dual driver system, along with an ANC system that is capable of cancelling up to 43 dB of noise. The buds also come with LDAC audio codec support, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, as well as a slew of ANC modes including Light, Balanced, Deep, Adaptive and Transparency.
In terms of battery life, Xiaomi says the Pro variant is capable of lasting up to 9 hours on a single charge, and a total of up to 36 hours when paired together with its accompanying charging case. Like the standard model, the case also charges via USB-C though the company did not specify how long it would take for full charge.
Both the standard and Pro versions of the new Redmi Buds 4 are slated to be available in Malaysia from 9 September onwards. As for pricing, the former is set to retail for RM 239, while the latter is priced at RM 369. (Source: Xiaomi press release / official website [1] [2])
