The new 16GB LPDDR5 is based on the company’s 3rd generation 10nm 1z process and, like its predecessors, is built using extreme ultraviolet (EUV) technology. As per Samsung’s official press statement, its 1z-based 16GB LPDDR5 RAM will reportedly bost the highest mobile memory performance of its kind, and with enable more consumers. And will provide feature support for 5G and AI in next-generation smartphones. Technically speaking, Samsung’s LPDDR5 RAM will run at a maximum speed of 6400MB/s, approximately 16% faster than the current 12GB LPDDR5 in many flagship mobile devices. At that speed, Samsung says that transferring files as large as 51.2GB can be done in a single second. Additionally, the new memory package will also be 30% thinner.
