The new earbuds and its charging case sport a similar design to the Hammerhead True Wireless X that came out back in June, with the only difference being the inclusion of the new RGB lightning that was mentioned earlier. And as with most releases by Razer, the product is offered in the brand’s signature black colour – where the earbuds themselves are decked out in a glossy finish, while its case is presented in matte black. Additionally, it is rated IPX4 for water resistance, and also comes with extra ear tip sizes.
The 2021 Hammerhead features a 10mm driver, Bluetooth 5.2 support with 60ms low latency, omnidirectional microphones for calls, and ANC capabilities. Razer noted that the onboard noise cancelling isn’t as advanced as the one equipped on the Pro, but it does offer environmental noise cancelling (ENC) enhancements – enabling it to filter out external noises such as the hum of a plane. And much like the brand’s other TWS products, you can fine tune the new earbuds’ equaliser via the Razer Audio companion app for mobile devices, which can also be utilised to customise the onboard Chroma lighting.
Another significant improvement featured on the second generation Hammerhead True Wireless is its larger battery life. Razer claims that the device is capable of lasting up to 20 hours (plus case top ups) with only ANC switched on, 27.5 hours with only lighting enabled, and 32.5 hours with both features turned off. Razer did not mention whether the new product comes with any fast charging capabilities.
The 2021 Razer Hammerhead True Wireless is priced at RM 659, which is a tad more expensive than its predecessor’s RM 479 price tag. For those interested, the earbuds are available for purchase starting today via Razer’s official website. (Source: Razer [1] [2])
