Both models were originally announced back in February. Between the two, the Sony Walkman NW-WM1ZM2 is clearly the standout, with its 99.99% purity (4N) gold-plated Oxygen-Free Copper chassis. On the other hand, the NW-WM1AM2 has an aluminium alloy frame instead. The former also has 256GB of internal storage space, while the latter comes with 128GB instead. Beyond those differences, the Sony Walkman NW-WM1ZM2 and NW-WM1AM2 are pretty much identical. Both make use of the S-Master HX digital amp tech, as well as the AI-based DSEE Ultimate upscaling tech for compressed music files. For Hi-Res audio, both can play 96kHz FLAC files for 40 hours straight. Both sport a 5-inch screen, run Android 11, and are WiFi compatible in addition to having a USB-C port. These two Sony Walkman models are now open for pre-order from now until10 April. The fancier of the two, the NW-WM1ZM2, has an eye-watering price of RM14,999. As for the WM1AM2, it has a more modest, but still jaw-dropping price of RM5,499. Sony Malaysia is also throwing in a 512GB microSD card if you pre-order either model.
