The Nikkei Asian Review reports that SIE has increased the PS5’s production order from 6 million to 9 million. That said, the report did not mention a time window for this production increase. Bloomberg, on the other hand, says SIE aims to make 10 million PS5 consoles by the end of the year.

The Bloomberg report also states that DualSense production has also been ramped up to match the PS5 production. On that note, mass production of the console began in June. 5 million of the consoles was expected to be produced from then to September. And from October to December, the remaining 5 million is expected to be made. Though chances are the latter bunch will only hit shelves next year, due to the process of actually transporting them there from the factories. Neither report breaks the numbers down to the standard PS5 and its Digital Edition. But in addition to the PS5, SIE will still be producing the PS4 and the PS4 Pro. This will likely involve the company’s new factory that’s capable of churning out a new console every 30 seconds. (Source: Nikkei Asian Review, Bloomberg via GameSpot)
