A relatively new Twitter account called @BF2042News has shared a number of images it claims to be from the upcoming Battlefield game. In one of the tweets, dated 4 June, a screenshot was shared which the account claims came from a play test from the day. A day later, the account shared three more, though one of it has a “pre-alpha footage” label on it. https://twitter.com/BF2042News/status/1400845931608690689 These images have also been put up on Imgur. They also come with thick black lines on them. Judging from a previous leaked Battlefield video, this could be used to block out identifiers which indicate an NDA or embargo was broken. Either that, or the black bars were tacked on to give that impression. But either way, the images matches up with the aforementioned leaked video, depicting a modern setting. The Twitter account itself possibly alludes to the year of the game’s events. This is similar to two games that came before, specifically Battlefield 1942 and 2142. With the official reveal set for 9 June, we’ll find out soon if it’s really the case. (Source: @BF2042News /  Twitter, Imgur via GamesRadar+)
