According to a report by DroidLife, the new ZTE handset will be released in select regions around the world. These include countries such as the UK, European Union, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Malaysia. However, even though the website sourced ZTE’s official press portal, we were unable to find the exact news release to validate this claim. Add a pinch of salt, as always.
Meanwhile, ZTE has opened up a microsite dedicated to the Axon 20 5G’s global launch, which only contains an invitation for users to join its “New Vision Club” newsletter for now. The company claims that those subscribed will also have the chance to be the first in line to purchase the phone ahead of launch and also receive it early.
Just to save you the trouble, we actually joined the mailing list in hopes to find more information regarding the eligible countries that will see the phone’s global launch. Unfortunately, we were unable to find what we were looking for. Please refer to the screenshot below of what to expect if you did sign up for ZTE’s “New Vision Club”. Aside from featuring an under-display 32MP front facing camera, the ZTE Axon 20 5G comes with a 6.92-inch Full HD+ display, a Snapdragon 765G chipset, and a 4220mAh battery with support for 30W quick charging. Its quad rear camera setup consists of a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide-angle, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. The new ZTE smartphone is expected to launch globally on 21 December, but its pricing is still unknown at this time. For reference, the Chinese launch of the Axon 20 5G lists the 6GB/ 128GB at CNY2,198 (~RM1,335), the 8GB/128GB at CNY2,498 (~RM1,518), and the 8GB/256GB at CNY2,798 (~RM1,700).
